Fuel

Ran our 450C out of fuel today.....crap. It runs so lean (on fuel) along with being so nice out. Was killing a few hrs clearing ground I lost track of time.

Well on the up-side.....I'll know the fuel delivery system better....

Your going to have to bleed those injectors to get it to start again.

Thank you. I'm still mechanically green on this machine. It is a loader machine...no doubt dead.....with side engine shields.

Grateful it is sitting to where I can drive up to it. The fuel system sputtered...I reached to kill the engine....no doubt it went on another 5 to 10 revolutions. Should be a lot of air in the fuel lines?

Should prove to be interesting.

I am not familiar with the JD diesels, but I had an old IH crawler that there was no way to bleed all the air from the filter housings unless a bit of air pressure was applied to the fuel tank.

You loosen the fuel fitting at the injector.

Most of the air purged......a couple of self created leaks (post injector pump) to fix and should be up and puttering again.
