sticking clutches
sticking clutches
I own a 1977 IH 140, cultivating tractor, and the clutch sticks after setting a while. The clutch is the same mechanical concept as the JD 420C engine tranny clutch is there anything I can do to prevent this? I bought the tractor new in 1977 and its been well maintained and I don't know why all of a sudden it wants to stick.
Re: sticking clutches
Have you changed how or where you store the crawler? I noticed the engine clutch on my 8N sticking more after I moved to an outdoor storage location- I know try to keep tarped better.country53 wrote: is there anything I can do to prevent this? (1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

Thanks for the thoughts, I always store it in a building although normal rainfall for us a year is around 40" we've already had 44"
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
