Been reading for some time, but now have to ask some questions, so registered. Hope it's not too much trouble.
My name is John and I'm in Western PA. We have in the collection (mine, buddy's, shared, etc) a 1970 straight 450 dozer, 1989 410C TLB, 198? 450C crawler loader, 197? crawler loader backhoe, and the newest addition a 1985 455D crawler loader- backhoe removed.
We mostly get someone else's leftovers and fix them up to use them. You know the story- either be rich or get greasy. I get greasy

So here's the question:
On the 455D, the fuel tank is upright behind the seat and does not have a fuel gauge. We keep the tank locked and I want to add a fuel gauge.
I plan to use AT61468 gauge, which is a JD gauge for the 450G. It will match the others nicely and I believe I can fit it in the dash with the help of a hole saw.
What I don't know is the resistance range (Ohms) of this gauge. I've read that some of the JD gauges are 240-33 Ohms.
Can anyone confirm this info? Anyone suggest a sending unit that is a reasonable price?
I am expecting to cut a hole in the tank to mount the sending unit.
I have to rewire the dash anyways for the new ignition switch (old one is worn out).
BTW, this is a great site with lots of good info on it and I am glad to have found it!
Thanks in advance.
