final drive seal

Post by Daheat » Wed Aug 28, 2024 7:34 pm

Good evening, getting ready to install final drive and manual calls for painting the mounting surface with a waterproof lacquer. My question is what kind and where do I get it?
Thank you for any help

A light coat of spray paint will do the same thing. Otherwise, a product like Aviation Form-a-gasket is probably what they mean.

Only thing you are sealing out is moisture, or water if you happen to get that deep. NEw housing cover gasket and brake rod boot are more critical than the sealant.
