the 440 tranny is in and one track is on.. im needing a track pin for the other track.. it is a drive in pin for a berco track.. also needing some tips on starting the old GM motor it has in it.. i have allready replaced the fuel filter and oil and oil filter.. the old desial has been drained of the tank and new is gonna be put in tommarow.. the old 440 been sitting for 2 years now with the tranny out when i bought it for 700 buck...so im braing her back to life as i luv these old dozers.. im only 22 and have been around dozers since i was 16,, been working on them since i was 17 and allso running them... lots of people is telling me i have to watch out for the old GM cus it will try to run away with ya.. meaning it will rev till it blows?? so this is why im asking these ? i have.. thanks for all the replys..

pull the valve cover off and turn it over slowly by bumbing the starter and watch the rocker arms and valves also the injectors. make sure every thing is moving up and down as it should. Crack the lines until you get fuel up to the injectors. Give her a little shot of either as you turn it over and if every thing is ok it will take off. I just bought one that the injectors were stuck I got them losened up and it runs but could run better. I am going to try some injector cleaner in it and see what happens but am heading out to Portland tomorrow so it will be a while before I get back to it. good luck

well ill have to do that.. but on your injectors i never use cleaner.. i learned from my boss that a pint of auto tranny fluid in the desial will clean that fuel system right up.. and restor power.. we did this to a ford tractor with a turbo that was only pushing like 50hp. when it was spost to be like 60 something... and we ran it on the dino and then did the tranny fluid in the tank and about 15-20 minits later it started re-gaining power, i always use it in my tractors for lubercation.. its cheaper

well she runs great after un-sticking one of the valves.. thanks guys.. last ? does anyone know were i can get a 2inch or 2/12inch shutt off valve.. im wanting to put it in my air pip for a just in case shut off,, lot of people say these old gm's like to rev till they blow... this one tryed, but we stoped it then it was fine.. but it has been sitting for 4-5 years untuched
