jd350 serial numbers

And serial number is 077336T

New to jd and was wondering if somebody could give me year.

I quickly looked in archives but am a little confused.
The owner is saying it it a 77 model I don't think it is.
It has a jd350b decal on the side and the above serial number.
The machine has over 7500 hours on it and he is wanting 5000 firm on price.
From the reading that I have done so far I think that it needs sprockets at least and I figure chains from what I can see.
The machine starts, but right side is out of adjustment. It does have full Rops and winch.
Is it worth 5 grand?

Based on your serial number it should be a 1968 Straight 350, not a 350B. Anybody can buy and put a sticker on it but that doesn't make it so. While this can affect value some, there aren't as many differences between the Straight 350 and 350B as there is between the 350B and 350C.

The "T4F3C" means it is a tractor, 350, crawler dozer, diesel, collar shift transmission (no reverser).

Value is going to be based a lot on condition which we can't see without photos so I am not going to comment on that other than $5K is not entirely unreasonable for an operational 350 with a winch and ROPS. The winch, if working, is a nice feature. However if the undercarriage is truly worn out then you are looking at many thousands to replace if you are going to use the crawler more than occasionally. Also if adjustment doesn't fix the right side steering, you may have to remove the final drive to fix it. I am just pointing these out as that should be factored into price.

For a collar shift straight with shot undercarriage, that is plenty. Right now you are looking at about $1000/side minimum for rails with no pads, $1500 and up for pads and bolts, $200/each or so for sprockets, all + freight. If you need rollers, the dollars keep adding up. You also did not mention which blade, if not a power 6 way, then an even poorer deal in my opinion.

if it needs chains it most likely needs sprockets and if it needs any rollers you can easily be well north of $5000 before your done ....my self i guess im spoiled but i would NOT have a crawler WITHOUT HLR/reverser
