Will a ripper from a 350c fit my 450b?

Post by Scottyb » Tue Aug 14, 2012 9:35 am

I know of a 350c with a rear ripper that is for sale and would like it for my 450b. My 450b has the hydraulic hook up already. Will it bolt up to my 450b shown in the photo?

The 450 is wider ,not by much ,but still I'm pretty sure the 350s wont fit. The 350s use a 3100 ripper, the 450s is a 3110. I think the masts and stuff will fit, but since the 450 shifts the brackets out farther the ripper frame itself gets wider.

Ripper Mounting

Post by JWB Contracting » Tue Aug 14, 2012 2:10 pm

I believe you could use this ripper on your 450. In addition to the ripper attachment you would need a set of hoe hooks for a 450, which will be different from the ones on your 350.

I would bet that ripper made for a 450 is built stronger for the increased power.

Nice to have all the attachments. I have a 350 ripper waiting to go back on a machine I'm keeping along with some as new factory ripper shanks.

Jason, I decided to buy the 350c loader with the ripper. It does not have any shanks so I will check to see that it will fit the 450 then look for 450 shanks for it. Deere has them for sure. As it comes, the owner adapted the back of the ripper frame to mount 3 point hitch attachments and mounted a back blade on it. He is pretty darn proud of the blade but it looks like it would not take much to bend it right off of there! Worked for him though as he just wanted the back blade to keep the yard level. It might come in handy for me for the same reason. I used to have one on a old Ford Ferguson and was pretty good with it. (my first tractor).

If it looks like the ripper will be just too light for the 450 then it might just stay on the crawler it came with.

Hope you are all having a good summer.
I always enjoy reading your posts,

Scott

ps...

I saw in my calender that I missed your anniversary celebration earlier this summer. What did you do to celebrate?

Anyone have any idea what it would cost to ship a ripper from the NE USA to me in Saskatoon ?

I ship meat and cheese every week from Montreal to Saskatoon at about 60 cents a lb. or about 200 a loaded pallet but no idea when it comes to crossing the border etc.
Thanks....

I will look at the cost of shipping, If it is reasonable I will follow up on the shanks, retainers. Thanks

In the meantime. I just bought a 350c loader with a ripper but no shanks. I looked at it last spring but not since. I might be able to move the ripper to my 450b or ?? I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I will let you know how it looks when I get it home.

Well I brought the 350c home and I am very pleased except that moving the ripper to the 450 would mean that, as Jason pointed out, I would need a different back hoe bracket for the 450b and I do not have one at this time.
I do have 3 brackets to fit 350s. Trade anyone?
It would also mean some mounting changes with the rops on the 450b as well

I could not find a model number on this ripper. It has been modified to fit the back blade 3 pt hitch and it is interesting. I have not tried this blade yet but the crawler works very nice.

This crawler had a career loading peat and the two bucket extentions fit on the outsides of the bucket. It might be good for snow!

So I guess I got a little closer to my goal, I have a ripper but no way to attach it to my 450. Suggestions welcome.
