Well lets hope he is. I haven't mentioned to him how far along it is and I don't believe he knows.
We'll find out tonight, he should be at the county fair and I'm going to "unveil" it

I have noticed one problem that could be major. My left side track frame is out too far by about 1/4".
I know this because the inside of the sprocket will sometimes just barely brush the inside of the last roller.
On the right side the sprocket is centered nicely in the center gap of the roller.
This left side is the side that we worked on but it was at the center crossbar. The problem now is at the rear crossbar.
Any good ideas on how to get the track side frame to slide on that crossbar?

Sometimes they are worn enough that they will slide easily. Then again, I did one with a 10 ton pullback ram, and a screwbinder to boot, so you never know.
Loosen up the clamp and hit on the outside of the trackframe and see if it moves at all.

If it's not to late video your Grandpa when he first see's it. Just don't pull to big of a surprise on him I did this with a tractor I redid That was a friend of mine and told him I wanted him to check out the timing. My brother was in the haymond with a video camera and he started telling me about the timing and I told him I would just try it to see what happened and I cranked it over and knew it was going to start and when it did he about jumped out of his shoes and my after thought was I wouldn't do that again because he could have fallen. I then gave him a chair to sit in because he was in bad health and he carried the chair around while he looked the tractor over never did sit in it. I took the video to his funeral and his children and grandchildren all had copys made of it.

I didn't get to video him, but he had a huge smile on his face. He was very surprised.

Thanks Bob,
I'm going to try to get the blade on this weekend. It's finally suppose to be somewhat warm. I've had the cylinders on and hoses ran since Christmas, but it's been too cold to mess with it since.
I need to mount the pump and plumb it into the tank and then hook to the blade.
