Engine interchange

Post by Alexander Maxwell » Mon Aug 07, 2006 5:37 pm

Hi I have a 63 JD-1010C loader with a long list of problems of witch
I allready solved ( stripped center Hub & axles, Finale drives bearings & seals & clutch's, some gears in the tranny, Water pump, seat ) You see I'm slowly rebuilding this think from front to rear and it ran when I bought it 9 month ago, So now comes the real crying, The only thing I didn't have to replace needs replaced now thats right the deisel engine, So I come to my question. Besides the orignal engine can anyone tell me what engines will fit in this 63 JD-1010C loader w/115 ci. 4 cyc. deisel.
any and all help is appreciated.

1010 diesel is 145 C.I.
A 2010 engine will fit with some changes, but you will eat something in a short hurry with the extra power. No other interchange, just the 1010 series crawler and wheel tractor, maybe one of the combines, but not likely to find a diesel combine of that vintage and size.
Isn't your engine rebuildable?

Hi I don't know the damage yet the engine is still in the crawler
it made no noise at all just lugged down and stopped (sounds like main
bearings because engine is stuck) And if I rebuild I want a compleat rebuild or a compleat good running engine to install and I'm having trouble finding the parts I need for a compleat rebuild. Any help with this would be appreciated also Thanks Alex

Parts are no problem, send me an e-mail with what you need, and I will get you prices.
