350B engine id and parts

Post by hampy123 » Thu Jul 26, 2012 5:51 pm

Just saved a 350B from turning to scrap but I am a newbie and need some help. This site has been great for getting started but I need help to id the engine. At some point someone swapped the engine to a 4 cylinder. Plate on the engine says John deere type 5BTA serial number 093859T. Iv tried searching the web with no luck. Could that be from a 450?
Also could use some advice for aftermarket parts. Need a water pump and sprocket so far and I'm sure much more to follow.

Contact Lavoy- he is the administrator of this site and runs a parts business for these crawlers. You can PM him or go to the home page of this website and click the parts tab.

FYI, usually the water pumps are not replaced as a whole but rather the hub bearing and seal is replaced. Read this thread:
