JD Dozer 350CE Bottom Rollers

Post by peterp » Mon Apr 16, 2012 6:57 pm

Hi I have a 350 CE Dozer and I need to replace one of the bottom rollers. I would like to change it myself and would like to know what is the best way to replace it. Do I have to remove the chain? Thank you.

To change a bottom roller, the chain can stay on. You need to jack up the crawler on whatever side your roller is on. Then you should loosen the track adjustment to get the slack on the bottom. This should give you enough room to get the roller out. Many times it can be helpful to lower the machine back down close to the roller to start the bolts, after you slide the new roller on top of the chain. That way you don't have to hold the roller up (they are pretty heavy). Also if your machine has rock guards, they will have to come off.
