Gearmatic winch - clutch engagement
I've been having a nice discussion with another member who is rebuilding an 8a winch, and now we are wondering how the secondary clutch band is activated. The primary band shows a pocket for the "push rod" on one side and the clutch cylinder is attached to the lever arm pushing on the other side, but the secondary appears to only have contact with the lever arm. What are we missing? We've been referencing the threads below for the pictures and comments, and the manual. Thanks. Paul

If I look at the general tendency of my rebuild, I guess it's gonna go deep!Lavoy wrote:Depends on how deep you have to go, but for a complete rebuild, not hard to spend $1000.
