How to free up track adjuster on a 350B dozer

Post by Deere Mack » Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:51 pm

Hello everyone, New guy here. I've owned a couple of later model JD dozers and currently own/operate a JD 750C series II. I just bought a JD 350BE dozer with 6 way blade. Its a diesel and seems to be in mechanically good shape other than the track adjusters. After reading several post on here and the internet, I'm almost certain I need to replace them. My problem is one side is stuck/seized all the way open and the track is extremly tight. I imagine it will be very difficult to remove with that much tension. Long story short, I'm looking for some tips on how to unseize the track adjuster.

Once removed can I just replace the rod or wil I have to replace the yoke too? I look forward to being part of the messageboard and appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks Ken, I guess I thought a 40 year old machine would be considered early model. But let me tell you that baby is stuck! It'll take dynomite to free it up.
