350/450 Bell Housing sizes
350/450 Bell Housing sizes
Hello. Quick question guys. Do these engines such as a 4219 on a 450C and a 3179 on a 350D use standard SAE bell housing sizes? If so what are they? I have line on a newer John Deere replacement engine and wondered if it would fit either of these applications. Thanks BOB
I have the bellhousing info some place John Deere uses SAE specks for housing as well as clutch size and depth I will se if I can find that info .Watch your motor for protruding castings such as starter area and length of block .I have noticed it is hard to get clearance on some blocks to shoe horn them under the hood when moving up to the 4276 and the 6329 blocks The new 4 cylender metric blocks should fit right in you may even have some extra room around the starter and the alternator won't fit Stay away from the computer controled blocks they dont come back to manual or even with the basic electronics aren't worth bolting in a dozer thet is computer controled they don't get much lug down with out the rest of the sensers working I my self would find the proper block .Digitup.
