350c sbrake band adjustments?

ok im putting together a 350c, iv got the clutch packs in and brake bands on but how do i adjust the bands? i see the adjuster and its set up almost like a drum on a car, so i know when the tops are on u cant adjust them, is there a sertin adjustment or do they adjust automatic when u use them?
350c 6 way blade, winch, log arch,,, current 3 year project of being saved and put backgether.. HELP

Just so you know,you can get to the brake adjustment knurled nuts with the covers installed. There is a plug on each sides top cover that you can get to from under the seat. There is also a stop bolt/jam nut on the front of each final. Technically the brakes are self-adjusting but you need to have the initial adjustment right. Do you have a service manual? If so look in section 9020, its got the procedure there. Its rather lengthy but if you need it i can try to scan a picture of it.
