JD 440C Engine Swap ??

I have found a 440 diesel crawler that the engine is down, I would like to know if a gas engine will bolt in or does it require changes in the bellhousing,clutch,hydraulic pump drive,etc. ?? If you know where I could buy a complete gas or diesel engine that is in good condition, that will bolt right in I would like to know where?

You can put a gas engine back in it, but you better have a gas donor crawler sitting there to take parts off of, it will take a lot more than just the engine.

Sounds like I need to find a diesel engine, or some parts for the one that is in it. It has a 2-53 Detroit in it, any suggestions on where to start looking?

Detroit parts are easy to come by, what do you need?

2-53 blower should not be hard to come by, there are a lot of them around.
