450C starter won't engage

I could use some help. I recently bought a nice 450C w/ backhoe.First time owner of any earth moving equipment( Rookie).
Started and ran just fine the few times I have used it last fall. Parked it last Dec. Went to fire it up last weekend and nothing. Had the battery out and on a batt maintainer all winter. Batt tested good. I turn the key and the gages move. I have the trans in N, w/ clutch depressed , press the starter and override at the same time but nothing happens. The trans temp gage will jump but that's it. No clicking from the starter. Don't think I can get to the starter because the bucket it down and the lift arms are keeping me from the engine??. Any ideas would be great.

if you can get at it a couple taps with a hammer might get it to go.
you might have a loose connection somewhere as well.
