Just got my injection pump rebuilt from pump shop Gateway its a (Roosa master JDB435MD2802). When I took off the pump I never removed the shaft and didnt find TDC. When installing it I just line back up the dot on the back of the shaft and inside my injection pump. The tractor runs fine even at high idle 2400rpm until the engine warms ups then the idle starts to vary about 3000 rpm. I checked for air leaks with ether on the intake side of the pump and cant find any. Im getting good fuel to the pump. I also checked all fuel return lines and nothing is clogged. Ive rotated the pump twice by loosening the two mounting bolts and restarting the machine seemed to help a little until it got warm. I took off the return line put it in a plastic tank and found when idle starts to vary I get bubbles in the fuel. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
PS Before I got the pump rebuilt a John deere parts guy told me to knock out the glass ball out of the return line on top of the pump to get it out of the deep woods so I did then I ran the machine for about ten hours before the pump went. I was wondering if this could clog my injectors and cause my idle to vary after its warm? Please Help
