450b steering isssues

Hi there, I have a 450b with some steering issues. This site has helped me a ton so far on this machine so thanks in advance. The issue is no left turn at all. I can pull as hard as i want and feel no resistance and the left tracks will not slow. Im figuring on it being the steering clutch. Not quite warm enough to start working on it but am going to start soon. Was wondering if i could get some guidance on my situation. This is a fantastic running machine. i am very impressed with its power, just need to turn.

It may be your left brake band as well.

Even if you had a stuck steering clutch, you should be feeling resistance from the brake band engaging when you pull the left steering lever.

I don't have a 450B, but there should be an access plate that you can use to inspect the brake/clutch areas. Just my $0.02.

I have a 1975 450B. My manual shows taking the plate out of the floor at your feet to gain access to the steering adjustment screws. The manual is real specific on what to do and in what order to adjust the slack in steering. Do you have a 450B manual?

Follow the manual If you don't when you set the clutch up the brake goes out of whack and vise versa if you don't go by bookyou will just get frustrated When you run that old Deere enough you can adjust to suit but it takes a while .Digitup.
