831 Loader on 440icd

Does Deere still make rebuild kits for the hydraulic cylinders for the 831 loader? I have a user manual on the loader but not a parts manual. Need to rebuild one bucket cylinder (the short 5" diameter cylinder) and could not locate the 831 loader on JDParts. Have not opened up the cylinder yet but is was leaking badly before I started rebuilding the crawler.

I know on the 90 loader, the kit number is obsolete, but all the individual parts were still good numbers.

I took the cylinders on my 40C (with a blade assembly off a 440) to a local hydraulics shop and they replaced the piston seals (two piece o-ring/backer) for cheap.

Thanks. I may have to go to a shop since I can not get the cylinder apart. I removed the cylinder from the crawler and removed the spanner nut. So far so good. The manual indicates to press the cylinder head in to provide clearance to remove the snap ring. I can not budge the cylinder head. Tried bar clamps and hitting it with a lead hammer, it will not move. Sometime in the past someone welded the rod end on, but the weld has cracked so the plan is to remove the rod end, which will then allow me to slide a sleeve around the rod, put the entire cylinder in a hydraulic press, and to try and push in the cylinder head.

Saw your response in YTMag and tried what you suggested. No luck. I have attached a picture. Does the front outside ring need to be removed? You can see where the spanner nut has been removed from the cylinder head. Not sure if the outer ring needs removal to move the cylinder head.
