420 final drive clutch

I have a final drive clutch steel plates that the faces are narrower than any I have seen by about a half inch . whats the deal.
5-420crawlers, 5010 dirt scraper, eimco power horse, 40 w, 420 w, 3-D4 LeTourneau Airborne Tournapulls

420 through 1010 used the narrower discs. If you have the wide discs in a 420, someone has put MC/40 steel discs in it.
