Last spring I got this loader from a friend in North Georgia. At first I was going to get it running and use it to do some clearing around the house. After spending some time with it I soon realized that it had a few issues. It has little power, one sprocket needs to be replaced, the left steering clutch does not engage properly, and it needs paint. So I decided to pull it into my shop, which is nothing more than a small corner in my basement, and tear it down. I have never owned or worked on a crawler before, so I am being optimistic in saying, "This should be fun." Here are a few pictures of the beginning.
The Loader.

The wasted sprocket.

Squeezed into the shop, tracks and parts of the 831 removed.

Another veiw.

Back of loader.

Rats nest of hoses.

Lift boom and other parts removed.

I'm sure I'll find other problems as I go along, nothing to bad so far. I hope to get a lot done while I'm off this week. More to come.
