350b steering clutches

Post by kn1ght0wl » Wed Nov 26, 2008 9:19 pm

I recently bouhgt a 350b crawler and the left side clutches are a pile of dust. Doing some research, I see they have both matallic and fiber discs.
Knowing the problems a fiber disc can have in a dry clutch, I was wondering if anyone has tried the matallic disc and how it worked for them

They work fine, the main drawback is price, there are at least double if I remember correctly, have not priced them in a while. The other thing I have noticed running them in the two cylinder and 1010 crawlers is they seem to be very "aggressive". I find that you need to run a little less brake than normal to get them to act about the same as the standard discs. May not occur in the 350's, have not done one of them.
