440 playing in the snow

March 9 and we still have plenty of the white stuff hope this ends soon. Oh well after being inside for the past couple days and looking at all the pics here I really wanted spring to get here so I could play alittle too. Then I figured why wait for spring, dad had just finished the driveway but there are still pleanty of banks to play in



The old girl started right up with no problem, that suprised me seeing that I am out of room in the barn and its been covered by a tarp all winter. Once she warmed up some I got to work, glad I did too the left side steering clutch was starting to stick (the side I didnt re build) A couple bumps from the brake brought her back to life



Gave her a good work out just to keep things loose while we're waiting for spring. Please note the required Elmer Fud hat, got the matching jacket but that's only for fancy resturants (Mom really enjoys taking me out in public )



Can't wait to get her back in to tighten up a few loose bolts in the loader and put her to work in some dirt Hope yall enjoy the pics and I'd be glad to send any one a few feet of the snow.

That looks like fun. If everyone knew how much fun these things are, there would not be enough old crawlers to go around.

Aint that the truth, the only thing that isnt any fun is paying the bill to fix them when something breaks Its a good thing Lavoy has the inventory that he dose otherwise I would have had to do a lot more searching when it came time to rebuild the clutch and final drive.

Nice pictures, I beleave it is real fun in the snow. We don't get more snow here as 1 inch!
I really hope it is as mutch fun as it seams, i am still rebuilding my 350 when i never ever used one.

The snow can be a lot of fun, a lot of it is what you make it. I just couldnt take sitting inside any more, the 856 IH or my 310D would have done the same job in a lot less time but the crawler was a blast. Makes me miss running them on a regular baisis. The 440 dosnt compare to the 650H that I rented a year or so ago, but it sure was a lot cheaper to buy than the 650 would have been

That's what they were made for. I believe a machine is the happiest when it is huffing and puffing. ( silly, isn't it )
