1010 Crawler/Loader

Post by JAJ » Tue Feb 12, 2008 4:03 pm

I am in the process of replacing the radiator core (among other things) on my 1010 with the gas engine. My question is regarding the "elbow, water inlet" part #T12422T. How is this part attached to the block/front gear cover? Mine seems to be just located (not attached) by a stud pretuding out of the front gear cover plate. Did the head of a bolt break off and all that is remaining is this stud? This stud is .310" dia and sticks out .555" The inlet elbow has one ear hanging out from the main body which has two holes in it which closely resembles the pix in the parts book. One hole is thru the ear the other is a blind hole in a boss. The stud was going into the thru hole. There is no other hole in the front gear cover that would line up with the second hole/boss. This inlet elbow has a hose on each end and just seems like it should be attached not just floating around???? Any help would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Jim

Jim,

I'm not going to be much help as the early 1010C and 1010CA had a free floating elbow with no drilled ear. I looked at the parts book myself when I saw your post and I don't see any reference to a bolt to attach the elbow. Kinda makes you wonder if it really is just free floating. I wonder if Deere just substituted a more generic part in later versions and the new one has a bolt ear you don't use.
