1010 crawler track

Post by killer » Mon Feb 20, 2006 9:46 pm

I have a 1010 crawler with a rock track, and would like to find a track suited for dirt.

You are going to have to be a little more specific, I have never heard of a rock track or dirt track.

The rock track so I've been told is very flat and is for working on rocky areas, it bogs down in muskeg. The other has a paddle or clet for better mobility in muddy or sandy soil.

Okay, now I get it.
The flat pads are called street pads, and are for working on hard ground and cement. On a 1010 they would be called 3 bar semi-grousers. They are seen most commonly on loader crawlers.
The other pads are called grouser pads.
If you have a loader crawler, grouser pads will increase wear and tear on undercarraige and steering clutches significantly plus require a great deal more power to turn. If you are always on soft ground or in mud, then not nearly as bad as if you are in dry ground.
