440ICD w/stuck clutch plate

:?: my 440 icd has been sitting since about last aug 2008. i tried to use it last week and the clutch will not release. i tried pushing a heavy load to break the clutch loose. how do i break this loose so i can use it? the clutch linkage is all moving and the free play is about 1"
