Out of curiosity I posted a "want" on the local Craigslist for JD MC/40C
3 roller undercarrage parts. Received a reply with pictures of what the person said he belived was a 40C 3 roller he had. He stated someone had installed a Wisconson engine in it and added an "L" coweling. Rather interesting.
His responses were very nice, and he's been very pleasant to share e-mails with. I do appreciate his trying to help.

That looks like the one of a kind John Deere "LCI" (L Crawler Industrial)
Seriously, Lavoy or someone with the knowledge should weight in on this to tell us if it was built by JD that way.

That is funnier than hell, cause my dad and I were talking about his old welder with a 14 hp Wisconsin engine. I told him you could probably put that engine in the John Deere crawler since it had so much balls. Then this contraption turns up...

IF that is the same crawler that I am thinking of, it has been floating around the internet for a while. I think if you could see it better, it has been cut down to 3 rollers, it has 420 final drives on with the sprockets flipped in narrow I belive. It was in IL a while back, can't remember where before that.

Hey everyone. I was reading the posts as a guest and clicked on the "interesting crawler" post and there it was...my crawler. I bought this last year from fellow here in Ky. to use to do some small jobs around the farm. It's been a pretty good crawler, considering how ugly it is

. I don't know much about these so i thought maybe someone on here could help me with a problem. The lever in the finals that actuates the brake is stuck in the "on" position. The steering lever will still move the clutches but the spring action is not working. Is there anyway to free this up...without pulling the finals? Thanks for helping out a newbie!!

Probably going to have to pull the final to free it up.
