Post by Gmcserria93 » Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:45 pm

Hello Y'all
ok im working on a 1010c crawler Gas
i just had the head done and have everything back to gather. I turn it over and it back fires through the carb. so im pretty sure its timing. my question is when i run 1 cylinder to TDC where should the rotor be pointing? towards #1 cylinder away from? and what is the proper firing order and sequence the wires are instaled on the distributor cap. please any and all help is appreciated

It depends on which cycle/stroke it's on. Watch the intake valve on #1 cylinder. The piston will be going down when it is intaking and the intake valve will be open. When that valve closes, the next stroke is the compression stroke when the piston is coming up. When the piston reaches TDC on that stroke, the rotor should be pointing to #1 cylinder. gregjo1948
