John Deere 350B Oil Gauge ?

Post by JDLover » Tue Jun 03, 2025 8:12 am

So, I was able to find replacement gauges for my Ammeter and Water temp (capillary type). I can't seem to find a matching one for the oil gauge that uses a copper oil pickup line. I can find a matching one that uses an electric sending unit. From what I understand the 350B started out with oil tube type and then changed to sending unit at some point. My question. Can I change out my oil pickup tube type to an electric sending unit type? Will an electric sending unit thread into the same hole as the oil tube pickup on the block? If not, I guess I will live with miss matched gauges.

As long as the sender that matches the electric gauge uses 1/8 male NPT it should thread right in, in place of the fitting for the copper tube. JD used electric gauges on that family of engines in some applications. The fitting is actually in the flywheel housing, just behind and above where the starter mounts.
