JD350B Reverser Rear Clutch Shims

Post by Lnhaag » Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:17 am

Hi all, I'm a recent new owner of a 350B in the Lynchburg, VA area. Of course 1.5 days into working with my new machine, it started pouring fluid from the reverser onto the ground. It was what I've come to learn is the typical front bearing failure plus front main seal failure combo. I have a good mechanic rebuilding it for me now and I am responsible for procuring parts. Because it is such a bear to get the reverser out, I am taking the opportunity to replace every ring, bearing, seal, and both clutch packs in the unit in hopes that I will never have to get back into it again. I have been able to procure all of those parts already; however, my mechanic just reached out to me needing the clutch shaft shims M147T (qty. 2), M148T (qty. 1), M149T (qty. 1). None of these parts are available from Deere and a quick Google & eBay search also came up empty. Can any of you help me find these shims? Aftermarket I assume would be OK too. Thanks in advance for your help.

Luke

I should have them on hand.

Thanks Lavoy. I was just going to call you when my mechanic messaged me to say he made a thicker shim and reused the thinner ones to achieve the proper endplay. I will certainly keep you in mind if we need any more parts.

Lavoy,
I left you a voicemail (after hours) on your 701#. The mechanic that is repairing the transmission in my 58’ 420-W row-crop utility tractor called me today asking for these exact same part #’s (too weird). According to him they are used on the transmission input shaft on my tractor. Give me a call at the number I left on the voicemail.
