350 B TRANS OIL CHANGE

Post by Coolhand » Mon May 18, 2020 7:01 pm

I have a 350B with a counter weight fixed drawbar. How do I change the transmission oil without taking the counter weigh off? I think the drain plug is directly above the weight. Can i take the PTO plate off the back? Or is there another way to get most of the oil out. Thanks.

The only way I know of would be to remove the back transmission cover. The PTO plate will get you to a lot of the oil but not all. The trans cover will drain most of it out however. You are correct in that the drain plug is directly above the counter weight. Some of the weights had a hole cast into them for access to the drain plug. However even with that hole you still have to remove the draw bar to access the plug. Not all counter weights have this access hole cast into them. Hopefully yours does. Either way it is a mess to deal with.

Thanks for the help and advice. I put a clean tube in and siphon some out and it was clear and looked good. I think I will leave it for now. Thanks again.
