Hello all, newbe to the site and JD crawer ownership,
On the second day of ownership, after about two to three hours of work I noticed my feet were sliding on oil. I looked and saw that the hot oil was being pushed out of the reverser dip stick. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I should look first. Or am I in real trouble from the get-go?
Thanks,
JFEHL

You could have a migrating oil problem.Drain the trans to the proper level and watch to see if oil is disappearing in other areas to end up in the trans it wont hurt anything but doing without oil in other areas may not be healthy .Check your levels then run it a while and check them again .I see Deere says that directional and powershift clutches need 255lbs pressure -or + 12 lbs to work proper. That is good to know if you have a pressure gauge on the transmission pump as well. My little 350 has a gauge but it is one of those red green or yellow idiot gauges that really tells very little.Digitup.

Thanks for the info Digitup. I will check those things and install a gauge as well. I think I will also try to get temp gauge installed in the reverser as well. I'll post my findings.

That may be it. It is definitely about the high line by a 1/4 inch or so. I tried to siphone a little out and ran it with out any trouble for about 1.5 hours this weekend. I will know more if I get to run longer next weekend. I got a working engine temp gauge installed. Running about 160 to 170 F, does that seem ok?
Thanks again, JFEHL
