I recently purchased a jd40c which is in good condition except for the tracks and possibly other parts of the undercarriage. I paid $4200 for it mostly as an old man with nostalgic reasons. My question; Is the crawler likely to be worth enough to justify the expense of rebuilding the undercarriage?[/b]

It depends on what you mean by rebuilding the undercarraige. I also depends on what you mean by worth it. If you are going to keep it, then it doesn't matter. If you are going to sell it, you are too deep already to justify spending a couple thousand more on undercarriage.
