440 gaser oilpump install

rebuildin motor and manual says i need tool to properly install oil pump? or should i say time it.

I think you can allign the slot and narrow side to the outside by a little trail and error engaging the spiral cut gears. I believe you can see down the distributor shaft to see if the drive meshed correctly (slit parrallel to block with the slot offset to the outside of the engine). This allows the distributor to be installed and timed correctly.
