Today was one of the best days ever. I was doing some fire wood at this guys house and I saw this old tractor that he got a while back from this other old fella, and it turns out to be my favourite John Deere Tractor ever. It is a Model L, but it is one of the real early ones, the unstyled ones. It's neat the guy who owned it before him took and put an electric start on it. But the way they did it they put a pulley where the fly-wheel was, and hooked up a belt to a Delco Remmy starter which is mounted so that it pivots. So to start it you push the button on the handle, and pull up to tension the belt. Ironicly the model L, and LA are on the oppisit page as the Model MC Crawler in this John Deere book that I have :The John Deere Tractor Legacy, a real great book.
I hope I can get this tractor
