2010 model/trans/year

Post by raceyalater » Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:25 pm

Hello, the dash mounted data plate is missing, how do I tell what year my crawler is? How about serial number, trans type or any other need to know info? I have the final drive off and need to find out specs for clutches (overall thickness of pack)and looks like the height of the pressure plate above the clutch drum when assembled, and probably adjustment sequence.
Thanks

First of all, I don't think the steering clutch parts or steering clutch adjustments for the 2010 varied by year or serial number.

Second, the serial number tag is not on the dash, but rather the right side engine block (early serial numbers) or the rear bell housing (later serial numbers). The tag on the front right dash is for the loader (if a crawler loader).

There are a number of parts that did vary by serial number for the 2010, primarily undercarriage parts like sprockets and the injectors and fuel system for the diesels. Most of the other parts are the same between years- obviously dozers versus loaders have some different accessory parts as well as gas versus diesel engines. There were also two transmissions- there was a constant mesh transmission as well as a high-low-reverse (H-L-R) transmission. Best as I can tell the dozers and loaders generally came with the H-L-R.

You can get a rough idea of serial number range from some of those parts. We have posted more specific information about this on here before if you do a search.
