New to me 350B, needs help

Hello all. I'm new to crawlers and wanted an opinion on what I've gotten myself into with a 350B. It appears to be a '74. A friend needed some help with Christmas funds, so he offered me his well used JD350B for around $2200. It runs and moves but has known problems that I need to start working out.

(1) Radiator--it's bad. I'm having a hard time believing it's worth $500 to recore this old one. Has anyone had a better price to fix one (recore)? I thought $300 would've been more likely.
(2) The hyd pump leaks. What's the best fix at what cost?
(3) It's missing the rad sheet metal up front. The cover over the engine is there, but just squeezes into place over the engine.
(4) The muffler is rotten. Will the muffler listed in the parts section fit my diesel engine? The stack is just interference fitted into the cover like the cover is squeezed over the engine.

I have pics, if I can get them to load. Gonna have to cut and paste them to a new window to view them.

Well I stopped at a second shop today and two shops said $500 to recore it with this built in oil cooler that's in the rad. So, that's going to be the 'cheap' fix on that I guess. You're right on with the Deere part--$1590.

I priced their bucket teeth at $34 for the adapter and $21 for each tooth.

PUMP: That is the pump I'm talking about, on the front of the engine crank. It leaks all the oil out when on level ground, even though the seal was changed. So the shaft is probably worn.

Question: Hopefully there's a bushing made that the new seal will seat to like on a SBC crankshaft bushing? I'll do some searching on the site to see what the best remedy is for that item.

The nose piece and all that stuff is long gone. The guy I bought it from paid $5000 for this machine about a yr ago as it sits. He bought a $300 used radiator and says it's just as bad as the original.

Question: (1) Will other model of dozers nose pieces work like the 350? I can't find any 350s in my area--heavy to ship. (2) Is there a manual online that's available for download?

The only nose piece that will work is a 350, you will have to find one even if it means shipping it in. That is not an issue, most salvage yards will palletize one for you and ship it to a business address, or you can have it held at the terminal.

Thanks. Yeah, I better start the search for the nose. That's probably what happened to the radiator that's on there now. It has a big fan shape in the back side.

I found a nose piece for $250 with the grill. Not a great price, but it's local. Might be able to find one cheaper if I dig a while.

That is dirt cheap, it will cost you that to ship one in from out of the area.
