350 B injector pump

Post by mikeintn » Sun Sep 20, 2009 5:08 pm

I have a 350 B. Its a low hour dozer but, it has been sitting for at least 10 yrs. The reason it was setting had nothing to do with the engine. But i went to try to start it. I changed fuel filters, blowed lines out to the fuel filters to injector pump. Took the lines loose at the injector pump and have fuel coming to the injector pump. Im not getting any fuel to the injectors so i took the cap off the top the electric shut off cellinoid the cellinoid was not working. i fixed it. and also noticed the lever that the cellinoid opens and closes on top of the pump was stuck in the closed position, I moved it and worked it now works fine. Next i took injector line loose at the pump and still cannot get any fuel out of the pump. I took the end cap off the back of the pump and it looked clean where the veins are. So, has anyone had one apart? Im guessing there must be something stuck inside it possibly. Im thinking about taking it apart myself to look or must i have a specialist look at it. Can anyone offer anymore advice?

Thanks Mike
Michael

Sorry it is a Roosamaster, I dont think it is worn out as it only has 1049 hrs. but it does have alot of age on it, and it has been setting for 10 yrs, sooo I'm guessing the setting is the problem, I was hoping they might be something that sticks in them that could be the problem, the fact that it wont put out one drop of fuel seems as the fuel is shut off some how?

Hi Mike-

First of all, are you sure you are getting fuel to the injector pump? There are usually inlet screens at the tank that can get plugged- although I don't know the locations for sure on your machine.

You will also need to be more specific about the model RoosaMaster you have; some models are more prone to issues than others and the parts availability varies.

If you do a search for "injector pump" on this board or an author search for "jdemaris" you will find a wealth of information and be able to ask more specific questions and be better informed on costs for a shop to inspect and repair injector pumps.
