I went to the John Deere Operators Manual (OMT73459) to see if I could adjust the steering clutches. When I opened the covers, it looks as if the lever rocker arm and the brake crank arm are locked together.

The brake adjusting set screw really does nothing for the moment. I ended up backing off the brake band adjusting nut to gain a little more steering on the right side.

Has anyone run into this before? If so, any ideas on loosening the two arms? Thanks.

If they are badly rusted, you will probably have to pull the final. Otherwise, try soaking it with penetrating oil and get them moving.
