440 Axle Specification

Rebuilding one of my final drives and the axle is worn at the seal area. Having a local machine shop spray weld the area back up and resurface. What is the specification for the axle diameter? My concern is not at the seal area, but where the bearing sits. I do not what the bearing too loose or tight on the axle. When I took the final apart, the bearing area was also worn and the bearing was loose on the axle, so they are spray welding that area also, and then resurfacing the axle to specification.

Spec may be in the service manual, but otherwise take them a new bearing, and tell them to make the shat a light press fit. I think normally that is about .003 oversize max.
