JD1010 Track woes

Post by MIkeinAlabama » Sat Dec 17, 2005 11:09 am

I have a JD1010 dozer that is a great little machine. Hydraulic 6 way blade, strong engine. Problem is in the track. I have replaced the steering clutches, put on better used drive sprockets. The unit now works fairly well cept on uneven ground the right plates will want to interfere with the rear sprocket gaurd, the one on the inside that bolts up to the rear housing on bottom. I assume that the chain is wore out, yes? Im being told that I can get either a rebuilt 1010 chain or a 420C is that correct?

Any sugggestions would be great. Im not looking to make the machine perfect , just usable.

Thanks
Mike

420 rails are two bolt, not 4 bolt, but yes they would fit.
It is possible you just need new pins and bushings, not different tracks.
