Okays guys her it goes,
As most of you probably have done, I am trying to remove the steering clutch out of my dozer. It is totally locked up. The dozer is up in the air and both tracks are off. I need to get the clutch pack spun around to get the set screw out to remove the final drive smaller gear and shaft. I have tried many thing to bring it around and it still wont turn. I thought by taking both track off it would be easier to turn but no luck. Anyone know how to get this old girl to turn that cluch pack around and get it out? Oh yeah I have the whole operator station off and the brakes on that side.
Thanks in advance for any information,
John

Turning the axle
We normally split the offending track, have one guy pull the other steering clutch handle back and the use a large crow bar between the sprocket and track frame to spin it over. If you've pulled the sprocket, you can put a couple sprocket bolts back in and put your bar between them to rotate.
