help needed to remove 350 straigh clutch fork

Hi !

I need some advise and trics on how to remove the clutch fork on my
350 straight ,

1- did put some penetrating fluid ( 3 times )
2- hit gently with a brass rod and a hammer
3- hit harder with a brass rod and a hammer
4- heat up the fork ( to a red status) with a torch and then bury it
with snow for a fast cool down
5- repeat step 4 three times )
6- repeat step 3 three times
7- here on the forum to get others idea and advise .

Heat it up again, but when it is glowing, try and push the shaft out, air hammer works the best. Heat and quench can lead to cracking or hardening, I would not advise it.

Hello !


EUREKA !!! the shaft & fork had been removed and still in good condition !

I was able to remove the sleeve and then the little cover from under the shaft and the use a long brass rod and use my zipgun and then drive the shaft down slowly and then voila !!!

The spring is shut dead due to heat but all the rest is intact !! oh boy was I happy !!! no I have to clean all the wholes and components then make sure the shaft hasd a smooth surface and then remount the whole thing .
