350 clutch

Post by awtwelding » Mon May 03, 2010 5:14 am

Hey guys, my 11 yr old son and I removed one of the finals this weekend on our new project. Once we got the track pin out, It was not that bad at all. About 3 1/2 hours. The other side should be better now we know what we are doing. We had fun. Question on clutch discs? Fiber or bimetalic? What is your thinking? Are there any advantages or disadvantages? How about the preasure plate? replace or reuse? Just want it done right the first time. Thanks for all your help!

Metallic won't absorb moisture and grow like fiber, but are quite a bit more money. Unless the crawler is going to sit for extended time periods, I would put fibers in. Replace the pressure plate and any other questionable parts unless you guys want to get even more practice at pulling finals.
