I picked up new barake bands for my 450 at PB&H Equipment yesterday,
and I'm going to attempt to replace them this week, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with replacing these and if so do you know how big a job I may be looking at ? and any thing in particular I should be watching out for? Also does anyone know of anyone in New Hampshire who does service calls on these machines, just in case I'm not able to do it.
Thank You

Brake Bands
I found a gentleman to look at my brakes from Bridgewater NH, and he told me I still have plenty of life left in the bands and they just need adjusting. This man restores mostly 1930's era "Caterpillar" equipment and has quite a few restored crawlers, he is incredibly talented and altough his restorations are not John Deere, theyr'e still beautifully done. He's been around equipment his whole life and to see what he originally picks up and then what he turns it into is amazing, he brings the restored equipment to shows all over New England and has won many awards. He has a real passion for the older "Cat" dozers, and really takes pride in his workmanship. He has quite a collection of equipment and I try to find excuses to go up to his shop just to look around, I'd like to give his name on this site so some of the local guys could go check out his stuff, but won't do so unless I ask his permission first. If you like old equipment you'd love to visit his place. Anyhow as far as the brakes are concerned he said he'd try to get to them next week and hopefully an adjustment is all that's needed, I'm a novice at all this stuff and would like to thank everyone on this site especially Ken from NH, and Lavoy for all there advice.
