450c power steering
450c power steering
In reading through the posts , I've run across the term 'power steering' in reference to a 450. Was that an option on the machines or do they all have it? Maybe I don't understand the meaning of the term but someone at the local shop mentioned a power steering resevoir, too. I didn't question it further at the time but now wish I had.

Older 450s - before the "C" series have dry steering clutches. Those machines came with power steering as an option - and it was usually powered by an engine-driven power steering pump with a small reservoir on top (with some variations).Hartlyboy wrote:In reading through the posts , I've run across the term 'power steering' in reference to a 450. 450C is the first with wet, hydraulically activated steering clutches. They get their hydraulic power from the HL-R transmission. They are all "power" steering -they have to be since they are hydraulic.
