350 hour meter wiring

Post by Ryan_289 » Mon May 12, 2025 9:17 am

Ive completely rebuilt the wiring harness that had been chewed up by rats. The only thing I dont have hooked up is the hour meter under the seat. Does anyone know where that gets tied in so I can get the meter working?

I don't recall for sure but I think they ran a wire up to a 12 volt post either on the key switch itself or the 12 volt side of the volt / amp meter. Either way you need it to turn on and off with the key switch.

It needs to be powered from a switch power source Leonard posted. The key switch or the power side of a voltmeter would work. An ammeter generally stays live all the time so I would avoid hooking to ammeter wire terminals.

On the old welding machines we used to hook them into the oil pressure switch, that way they only log hours when the machine is actually running and not just key on. Not sure if your machine has an oil pressure switch but should be easy to put one on it.
