JD 350B Diesel Wiring ?
JD 350B Diesel Wiring ?
So my alternator is not charging and it looks like it is an alternator issue and not a regulator one. Rather than spend the money on a new alternator that will use my external regulator I figure it best to install a one wire alternator. I have been reviewing the wiring diagram in the service manual and some of it is as clear as mud. I have installed one wire alternators on my farm tractors, but never on a diesel machine. I know I can basically remove the regulator wiring, but is there anything in particular I need to watch out for when it comes to the diesel shutoff Switch, etc. Any help is appreciated!

I don't think so, but could be wrong.

No you won't have to do anything any different than on your tractors. Just eliminate the old regulator and wire in your new one wire alternator. You should be good to go.

Re: JD 350B Diesel Wiring ?
I agree, nothing special. You need one 10 or 12-gauge wire which your external alternator should already have hooked to its battery post. Especially with a one wire alternator you want a small diameter pulley of the right width for the stock fanbelt.
