Clacking sound when moving
I have a 1979 350C that makes a clacking noise when moving both forward and reverse, Is this normal or should I be looking to fix something?
Re: Clacking sound when moving
Do you have some loose track pads?
Re: Clacking sound when moving
All my track pads are secure. The clacking is not intermittent but very consistent. I have opened up the transmission, examined the ring gear and pinion, looked in at the clutches and everything looks good. The machine operates just fine but I worry that I am missing something that needs attention.

Re: Clacking sound when moving
Hi,
Worn chains tend to be noisy on the sprocket teeth. But that sounds like it's coming from both your left and right Seat Cheeks....
Sprocket teeth tend to become pointed as the pins and bushings of the chains wear, so that's pretty easy to see.
There is also the clack clack of the pad overlaps as they close up. But I am thinking you aren't talking about that....
